A Destiny Fit for a King: Celebrating the Centennial Continues, 8 August 17, 2012
By Julie Murphree, Arizona Farm Bureau
I now have eight different centennial celebration articles completed for Arizona Farm Bureau. This lastest, Celebrating the Centennial, is about the King ranching family in southern Arizona.
Theirs is quite the legacy and full of interesting history. It’s also a story of perseverance.

Micaela McGibbon, John and Pat King's daughter, says, "I feel that my family has actual roots and are well grounded."
To read A Destiny Fit for a King, you’ll immediately note how so much of what they represent is a family affair.
What I learned from the Kings:
- Farming and ranching is all in the family
- Tradition matters, at least in certain areas
- Work hard, love each other and stay focused
- Never give up
- Change with the times
- Celebrate successes
